I met my husband on a horror video game and we got married online

In today’s digital age, it is not uncommon to meet new people online. With the rise of social media and dating apps, it has become easier to connect with individuals from all over the world. However, when I told my friends and family that I was planning to travel to another country to meet someone I had only met online, they thought I was crazy. But I was determined to take the leap of faith and embark on this journey, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I first met Sarah* on a language exchange app. We started chatting and soon discovered that we shared a lot of common interests. Our conversations were effortless and we quickly developed a strong connection. As we got to know each other better, we realized that we wanted to meet in person. The only problem was that we lived in different countries, with thousands of miles between us.

When I told my friends and family about my plan to travel to Sarah’s country to meet her, they were skeptical. They warned me about the dangers of meeting someone online and how it could be a scam. Some even questioned my sanity and told me I was being reckless. But I was not deterred. I had done my research and felt confident about my decision. I knew that there were risks involved, but I was willing to take them for the chance to meet someone who had become an important part of my life.

As the day of my trip approached, the doubts and fears started creeping in. What if Sarah wasn’t who she claimed to be? What if we didn’t have the same chemistry in person? But I pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the excitement of finally meeting her.

When I arrived in Sarah’s country, I was nervous but also filled with anticipation. We had planned to meet at a café near her place. As I walked towards the café, I saw her sitting at a table, and my heart skipped a beat. She looked even more beautiful in person than in her pictures. We hugged and it felt like we had known each other for years.

As we sat and talked for hours, I realized that our connection was real. We laughed, we shared stories, and we had a great time together. It was like we were old friends catching up. Meeting Sarah in person only solidified our bond, and we both knew that we wanted to continue our relationship.

I spent a week in Sarah’s country, and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. We explored the city together, tried new foods, and created unforgettable memories. I also got to meet her friends and family, who were all welcoming and accepting of our relationship.

When it was time for me to leave, it was bittersweet. Saying goodbye to Sarah was hard, but we both knew that this was just the beginning of our journey together. We continued to stay in touch and visited each other whenever we could. Eventually, Sarah moved to my country, and we are now happily married.

Looking back, I am grateful that I took the chance and traveled to another country to meet someone I had only met online. It was a leap of faith that paid off in ways I could have never imagined. I understand the concerns of my friends and family, but I also believe that sometimes, you have to take risks in life to find true happiness.

Meeting Sarah has taught me that love knows no boundaries. It can transcend distance, language, and cultural barriers. It has also shown me the power of technology in bringing people together. Without the language exchange app, I would have never met Sarah, and my life would be incomplete without her.

So to all those who told me I was crazy to travel to another country to meet someone I had met online, I say this – sometimes, the best things in life come from taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone. Don’t let fear hold you back from experiencing new things and meeting new people. Who knows, you might just find your soulmate on the other side of the world.
