Stephen Colbert Erupts as Karine Jean-Pierre Trashes Democrat Party Failures: ‘You’re Talking to a Guy Who Helped Raise $25 Million for Joe Biden’

Late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert found himself in a heated exchange with former Biden Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday night’s episode of “The Late Show.” The two clashed over the state of the Democratic Party and whether or not President Joe Biden is showing signs of mental decline.

The conversation began when Colbert asked Jean-Pierre about her thoughts on the current state of the Democratic Party. Jean-Pierre, who served as the chief of staff for Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2020 campaign, did not hold back in her criticism.

“I have to be honest, Stephen. I am disappointed in the Democratic Party,” Jean-Pierre said. “We have not delivered on many of our promises and the American people are feeling the effects of that. We need to do better.”

Colbert, a vocal supporter of the Democratic Party, was taken aback by Jean-Pierre’s comments. He reminded her that he had helped raise $25 million for Biden’s campaign and questioned her loyalty to the party.

“You’re talking to a guy who helped raise $25 million for Joe Biden. I have faith in this party and in our president,” Colbert said.

But Jean-Pierre stood her ground, stating that she was not attacking Biden personally, but rather the party as a whole. She pointed to the lack of progress on key issues such as healthcare, immigration, and climate change.

“We cannot ignore the fact that we have not made significant progress on these issues. And the American people are losing faith in us,” Jean-Pierre argued.

Colbert, visibly frustrated, then turned the conversation to Biden’s mental state. He asked Jean-Pierre if she had seen any signs of decline in the president, as some critics have suggested.

Jean-Pierre firmly shut down any speculation about Biden’s mental fitness, stating that she had never seen any indication of decline during her time working with him.

“I have worked closely with President Biden and I can tell you that he is sharp, focused, and fully capable of leading this country,” Jean-Pierre said.

Colbert, a known critic of former President Donald Trump, then took a jab at the Republican Party, saying, “Well, at least we don’t have a president who tweets at 3 am.”

The tense exchange between Colbert and Jean-Pierre highlights the current divide within the Democratic Party. While some, like Colbert, remain loyal and optimistic, others, like Jean-Pierre, are calling for more action and progress.

But despite their differences, both Colbert and Jean-Pierre share a common goal: to see the Democratic Party succeed and make positive changes for the American people.

As the conversation came to a close, Colbert and Jean-Pierre found common ground in their support for President Biden and their belief in the potential of the Democratic Party.

“We may have our differences, but at the end of the day, we are all working towards the same goal – a better future for all Americans,” Colbert said.

And with that, the two ended their discussion on a positive note, reminding viewers that despite disagreements, unity and progress are key to the success of any political party.
