Exclusive: DHS Vows Deportation Numbers Will Increase, Lays Out Detailed Plan

In a recent interview on the “Alex Marlow Show,” Tricia McLaughlin, the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), discussed the current state of deportation numbers in the United States. McLaughlin assured listeners that the DHS is committed to increasing these numbers and outlined a detailed plan to do so.

McLaughlin began by acknowledging the role of Congress in providing the necessary funding for the DHS to carry out its mission. She stated, “Congress has given us this funding to be hiring more than 10,000 new ICE enforcement officers. I know about 5,000 have been hired.” This is a significant step towards increasing the number of officers on the ground who are responsible for enforcing immigration laws and carrying out deportations.

The Assistant Secretary went on to explain that the DHS is also working on streamlining the deportation process. This includes implementing new technologies and procedures to make the process more efficient and effective. McLaughlin emphasized that the DHS is committed to ensuring that those who have been ordered to be deported are actually removed from the country.

One of the key aspects of the DHS’s plan to increase deportation numbers is to focus on individuals who have committed crimes in the United States. McLaughlin stated, “We are prioritizing criminals, those who have committed crimes in the United States, and those who have been ordered removed by a judge.” This targeted approach will not only make communities safer, but it will also help to alleviate the backlog of cases in the immigration court system.

In addition to targeting criminals, the DHS is also working to improve cooperation with local law enforcement agencies. McLaughlin explained that the DHS is working to establish partnerships with these agencies to help identify and remove individuals who are in the country illegally. This collaboration will not only help to increase deportation numbers, but it will also strengthen the overall security of our nation.

McLaughlin also addressed concerns about the recent surge of illegal border crossings. She stated that the DHS is working to address this issue by increasing border security and implementing policies that discourage individuals from attempting to enter the country illegally. This includes enforcing consequences for those who are caught crossing the border illegally and implementing policies that discourage individuals from making the dangerous journey to the United States.

The Assistant Secretary also emphasized the importance of addressing the root causes of illegal immigration. She stated, “We need to address the underlying issues that are causing people to leave their home countries and come to the United States illegally.” This includes working with other countries to address issues such as poverty, violence, and corruption that often drive individuals to leave their homes in search of a better life.

In conclusion, Tricia McLaughlin’s interview on the “Alex Marlow Show” provided valuable insight into the DHS’s plan to increase deportation numbers. With the support of Congress and the implementation of new technologies and procedures, the DHS is committed to removing individuals who have no legal right to be in the United States. By targeting criminals, improving cooperation with local law enforcement, and addressing the root causes of illegal immigration, the DHS is taking a comprehensive approach to addressing this important issue. As a result, we can expect to see a significant increase in deportation numbers in the near future.
