Disney’s ‘Snow White’ Star Rachel Zegler Mocked After Declaring ‘#1 Movie In the World’ Following Box Office Fail

Disney’s “Snow White” star Rachel Zegler is facing backlash on social media after declaring the live action remake of the classic film as the “#1 movie in the world” despite its disappointing box office debut.

The highly anticipated remake of the beloved fairytale, which was released in theaters on July 7th, has been met with mixed reviews and a lackluster performance at the box office. Despite this, Zegler, who plays the titular character, took to Twitter to proclaim the film’s success, writing, “Snow White is the #1 movie in the world and I am so grateful to be a part of it.”

However, her statement was met with criticism and mockery from social media users who pointed out the film’s underwhelming box office numbers. According to Box Office Mojo, “Snow White” only earned $17.8 million domestically in its opening weekend, falling short of its projected $25-30 million debut.

Many users also pointed out that the film was not even the top movie at the box office, with “Black Widow” and “F9: The Fast Saga” still holding the top spots.

Zegler’s tweet has since been deleted, but the backlash continues to grow as more people weigh in on her statement. Some have accused her of being out of touch with reality, while others have criticized her for trying to spin the film’s failure into a success.

This is not the first time Zegler has faced criticism on social media. When her casting as Snow White was announced, some users took issue with her being a Latina actress playing a traditionally white character. However, Zegler has received support from many fans and industry professionals, including the film’s director, Marc Webb, who praised her performance as “captivating and nuanced.”

Despite the backlash, Zegler’s enthusiasm for the film is understandable. As a newcomer to the industry, being cast as the lead in a Disney film is a huge accomplishment and a dream come true for many actors. It’s natural for her to want to celebrate and promote the film, especially after putting in months of hard work and dedication.

It’s also important to note that the success of a film cannot be solely measured by its box office numbers. While “Snow White” may not have had a strong opening weekend, it could still find success through word of mouth and continued viewings. Additionally, the film’s release on Disney+ Premier Access may also contribute to its overall success.

Furthermore, it’s unfair to place the blame solely on Zegler for the film’s performance. As an actor, she is not responsible for the marketing, distribution, or overall success of the film. It’s a team effort, and it’s unfair to single her out for criticism.

In the end, it’s important to remember that Zegler is a young actress who is still learning and growing in her career. Instead of tearing her down, we should be supporting and encouraging her. Let’s celebrate her accomplishment and give her the chance to shine in future projects.

As for “Snow White,” it may not have had the strongest start, but it still has the potential to be a beloved and successful film. Let’s give it a chance and judge it on its own merits, rather than focusing on its box office numbers. After all, as the saying goes, “the fairest of them all” may not always be the most popular, but it’s the one that captures our hearts and stands the test of time.
