Countryfile’s Matt Baker lives ‘double life’ after making huge family decision

Matt Baker, the beloved co-host of the popular British TV show Countryfile, has recently given us a glimpse into his idyllic life in the picturesque Durham countryside. Married to his wife, Nicola, and a proud father of two children, Matt has found his own little slice of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

In a recent interview, Matt shared the joys of living in the countryside and how it has allowed him to truly appreciate the simpler things in life. He described his home as a place where he can escape from the busy and often chaotic world of television, and instead, immerse himself in the beauty of nature.

Matt and his family live on a farm in the heart of Durham, surrounded by rolling hills, green pastures, and charming villages. The presenter has always been passionate about farming and the outdoors, and it’s no surprise that he has chosen to raise his family in this serene setting.

The 41-year-old presenter spoke fondly about his children, Molly and Luke, and how they have grown to love and appreciate the countryside just as much as he does. He shared how they enjoy spending their days exploring the farm, playing with their pets, and helping out with daily chores. Matt and Nicola believe that living in the countryside has given their children a sense of freedom and allowed them to develop a strong connection with nature.

As a family, they also enjoy taking long walks in the countryside, discovering hidden gems and spotting wildlife along the way. Matt mentioned how his daughter, Molly, has developed an interest in bird-watching, while his son Luke loves to go fishing in the nearby streams. It’s heartwarming to see how living in the countryside has encouraged his children to pursue their interests and explore the great outdoors.

Matt also shared how his wife Nicola has played a significant role in helping him settle into the countryside lifestyle. As a former physiotherapist, Nicola has been a pillar of support for Matt, especially during his busy filming schedule. She has also embraced the rural way of life, keeping chickens, and tending to their vegetable patch, which provides fresh produce for the family.

The couple has also been known to support local businesses and participate in community events. Matt and Nicola believe in giving back to the community and have been actively involved in charity work, raising funds for various causes close to their hearts. They have also opened their farm to the public, welcoming visitors to experience the farming way of life and educate them about sustainable living.

For Matt, living in the countryside has also allowed him to develop a closer relationship with his parents, who live nearby. He fondly recalls his childhood spent on his grandparents’ farm and believes that his children are fortunate to have their grandparents close by to pass on their wisdom and share stories.

Although living in the countryside can be challenging at times, Matt believes that it’s all part of the charm. From weathering harsh winters to dealing with the occasional power outage, he and his family have learned to adapt and appreciate the simple things in life.

Matt Baker’s life in the Durham countryside is an inspiration to many. It reminds us to slow down, appreciate nature, and cherish the time spent with our loved ones. As he continues to captivate us with his charming personality and love for the outdoors on Countryfile, we can’t help but feel a sense of admiration for his idyllic life in the Durham countryside with his wife, Nicola, and their two children.
