Wasserman Schultz: Gabbard ‘Likely a Russian Asset’

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “José Díaz-Balart Reports,” Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) made a shocking statement about DNI nominee Tulsi Gabbard, calling her a “likely Russian asset.” This accusation has sparked controversy and raised questions about Gabbard’s ties to Russia.

Wasserman Schultz, a former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, stated that Gabbard is “considered to be, essentially, by most assessments, a Russian asset.” This statement has caused a stir in the political world, with many questioning the evidence behind such a serious accusation.

Gabbard, a congresswoman from Hawaii, has been a controversial figure in the Democratic Party. She has been criticized for her foreign policy views, particularly her stance on Syria and her meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. However, accusing her of being a Russian asset is a whole new level of attack.

Wasserman Schultz’s statement has been met with backlash from both sides of the political spectrum. Many have pointed out that there is no concrete evidence to support her claim. In fact, Gabbard has been a vocal critic of Russia and its actions in Syria. She has also called for an end to the United States’ involvement in the country.

Furthermore, Gabbard has a strong record of service to her country. She is a veteran of the Iraq War and currently serves as a major in the Hawaii Army National Guard. She has also been a strong advocate for veterans’ rights and has worked to improve the VA healthcare system.

Gabbard has also been a champion for progressive policies, such as Medicare for All and criminal justice reform. She has been a vocal supporter of the Green New Deal and has been endorsed by environmental groups for her commitment to protecting the planet.

Despite her strong record and progressive values, Gabbard has faced criticism and attacks from within her own party. Many have accused her of being a “Russian asset” or a “Russian stooge” without any evidence to back up these claims. This type of baseless accusation is dangerous and undermines the democratic process.

It is important to note that Gabbard has not been the only target of such accusations. Other progressive candidates, such as Senator Bernie Sanders, have also been labeled as “Russian assets” by some in the media and political establishment. This type of rhetoric only serves to divide the Democratic Party and distract from the real issues at hand.

In the face of these attacks, Gabbard has remained steadfast in her commitment to serving the American people. She has continued to speak out on important issues and has not let these baseless accusations deter her from her mission.

It is time for politicians to put aside their personal agendas and focus on the issues that truly matter to the American people. Accusing someone of being a “Russian asset” without any evidence is not only irresponsible, but it also undermines our democracy.

In conclusion, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s statement about Tulsi Gabbard being a “likely Russian asset” is unfounded and dangerous. Gabbard has a strong record of service and a commitment to progressive values. It is time to put an end to baseless attacks and focus on the real issues facing our country. Let us come together as a united party and work towards a better future for all Americans.
