Exclusive — Lutnick on Path to 6% GDP Growth: America Has Unused Power Capacity; We’re Going Tap It

On Saturday’s episode of “The Alex Marlow Show,” Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick discussed the potential for economic growth through the utilization of unused power capacity in American communities. Lutnick pointed out that many of these communities, which were once thriving with paper mills and steel factories, now have an abundance of untapped energy that could be harnessed and put to use.

The conversation began with Marlow asking Lutnick about his thoughts on the current state of the American economy. Lutnick responded by stating that the country has the potential for significant growth, particularly in the energy sector. He explained that there are many communities across the United States that have access to unused power capacity, which could be a major source of economic growth.

Lutnick went on to say that these communities have the infrastructure in place to support large-scale energy production, but due to the decline of traditional industries, this capacity is not being utilized. He emphasized the potential for these communities to tap into this energy and create jobs and economic opportunities for their residents.

Marlow then asked Lutnick about the specific steps that need to be taken to achieve this growth. Lutnick responded by saying that it requires a combination of private and public investment, as well as a change in mindset. He explained that in order to tap into this unused power capacity, there needs to be a shift in thinking from traditional industries to newer, more sustainable forms of energy production.

Lutnick also stressed the importance of government policies that support this type of growth. He mentioned the Trump administration’s efforts to roll back regulations and promote energy independence, which have already had a positive impact on the economy.

Marlow then asked Lutnick about the potential for job creation through this type of economic growth. Lutnick responded by saying that the possibilities are endless. He pointed out that not only would there be jobs created in the energy sector, but also in industries that support it, such as transportation and manufacturing.

Lutnick also mentioned the potential for these communities to become energy exporters, which would not only create jobs but also bring in revenue. He cited the example of the Permian Basin in Texas, which has become a major oil producer and has had a significant impact on the local economy.

In conclusion, Lutnick emphasized that America has the potential for 6% GDP growth, and tapping into unused power capacity is a key factor in achieving this. He encouraged communities to embrace this opportunity and work towards becoming energy producers, which would not only benefit their local economies but also contribute to the overall growth of the country.

The interview with Secretary Lutnick highlights the untapped potential of American communities and the need to shift towards more sustainable forms of energy. It is a reminder that with the right policies and investments, America can continue to be a leader in economic growth and innovation. Let us hope that more communities across the country will follow suit and take advantage of their unused power capacity, paving the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for all.
