Madeleine McCann’s parents hope for ‘breakthrough’ in New Year message

In a heartfelt message shared on New Year’s Day, Kate and Gerry McCann, the parents of missing British girl Madeleine McCann, expressed their hope for a breakthrough in the search for their daughter in 2026.

It has been over 14 years since Madeleine disappeared from a holiday apartment in Portugal in 2007, just days before her fourth birthday. The case has captured the attention of the world and has been one of the most high-profile missing child cases in history.

As another year has passed without any answers, the McCanns have remained determined and unwavering in their pursuit to find their daughter. In their New Year message, they thanked everyone who has supported them and urged people to not give up hope.

“We want to thank all our supporters for their unwavering love, prayers, and hope. We know that many of you have been with us since the very beginning and we are truly grateful for your continued support and belief in us,” the couple wrote in their message.

They also acknowledged the difficult year that 2020 has been and how it has been particularly challenging for families who are missing a loved one. However, they emphasized that they will not lose hope and will continue to search for Madeleine as long as it takes.

“2020 has been a difficult year for all of us, but especially for families who are missing a loved one. We understand the pain and uncertainty that comes with not knowing where your child is. But we will not lose hope. We will never give up on finding Madeleine and bringing her home,” they wrote.

The couple also shared their belief that a breakthrough in the search for Madeleine will come in 2026, which would mark the 20th anniversary of her disappearance.

“We know it has been a long time since Madeleine was taken from us, but we strongly believe that we will find her. Our hope and faith have only grown stronger with each passing year. We truly believe that a breakthrough will come in 2026, on the 20th anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance,” they expressed.

The McCanns have been tireless in their efforts to find their daughter, working closely with the authorities and launching various campaigns to keep Madeleine’s case in the public eye. They have also set up a website, FindMadeleine.com, to provide information and updates on their search.

Their determination and strength have been an inspiration to many, as they continue to fight for justice and answers for their daughter. The couple ended their New Year message with a message of hope and gratitude.

“Let us all come together and keep the hope alive. We are eternally grateful for your support and we will not rest until we find Madeleine. Thank you and may 2021 bring us all closer to finding our beloved daughter,” they wrote.

As we enter a new year, let us join the McCanns in their hope and belief that a breakthrough will come in 2026. Let us also remember Madeleine and all the other missing children, and continue to support their families in their search for answers. Let us never lose hope and always remember that every child deserves to be found and brought back home.
