Rep. Barry Loudermilk Will Not Seek Reelection After 6 Terms in Congress

After serving six terms in Congress, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) has announced that he will not be seeking reelection in 2026. In a statement released on Monday, Loudermilk explained that it was time for him to find “other ways” to contribute to his community, state, and nation.

Loudermilk, who has represented Georgia’s 11th congressional district since 2015, has been a strong conservative voice in Congress. He has been a vocal supporter of President Trump’s policies and has worked tirelessly to advance the interests of his constituents.

In his statement, Loudermilk thanked the people of Georgia for giving him the opportunity to serve in Congress. He also expressed his gratitude to his colleagues and staff for their support and dedication.

“I am honored to have served the people of Georgia for six terms in Congress. It has been a privilege to work alongside my colleagues and staff to advance the interests of our great state and nation,” Loudermilk said.

Loudermilk’s decision not to seek reelection comes as a surprise to many, as he has been a popular figure in Georgia politics. However, he believes that it is time for him to step aside and allow new voices to be heard.

“I have always believed in term limits and the importance of fresh perspectives in government. After much prayer and reflection, I have decided that it is time for me to step aside and make way for new leaders to emerge,” Loudermilk explained.

Loudermilk’s decision has been met with mixed reactions from his constituents. Some have expressed disappointment, while others have praised him for his service and dedication to the community.

“Rep. Loudermilk has been a strong advocate for our district and has always put the needs of his constituents first. While I am sad to see him go, I understand and respect his decision. He has served us well and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” said a resident of Georgia’s 11th district.

Loudermilk’s decision not to seek reelection has also sparked speculation about his future plans. Some believe that he may run for another political office, while others think he may pursue opportunities in the private sector.

In his statement, Loudermilk did not reveal his future plans but assured his constituents that he will continue to serve them in whatever capacity he can.

“I may be stepping down from Congress, but I will always be a servant to the people of Georgia. I am committed to finding new ways to contribute to my community, state, and nation,” Loudermilk said.

Loudermilk’s decision not to seek reelection is a reminder that public service is not limited to holding political office. There are many ways to contribute to the betterment of our society, and Loudermilk’s decision to step aside after six terms in Congress is a testament to that.

As we bid farewell to Rep. Barry Loudermilk, we thank him for his service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We are confident that he will continue to make a positive impact on his community, state, and nation.
