Exclusive — Attorney General Ken Paxton: John Cornyn a ‘Washington Insider’ That Pushed Gun Control, Insinuated ‘Amnesty,’ Fought Trump on Border Wall

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has recently made some strong statements about Senator John Cornyn, his fellow Republican from Texas. In an interview on Breitbart News Saturday, Paxton called out Cornyn as a “Washington insider” who has been in the Senate for 23 years and has pushed for policies that go against the values of the state of Texas.

Paxton, who has been serving as the Attorney General of Texas since 2015, did not hold back in his criticism of Cornyn. He specifically mentioned the Senator’s support for gun control measures, his “insinuation” of amnesty for illegal immigrants, and his opposition to President Donald Trump’s plans for a border wall.

It is no secret that Texas is a state with strong beliefs in the Second Amendment and the right to bear arms. Paxton, as the state’s top law enforcement official, has been a vocal advocate for protecting these rights. In contrast, Cornyn has been known to support certain gun control measures, which has not gone down well with many Texans.

Paxton also took issue with Cornyn’s stance on immigration. He accused the Senator of “insinuating” amnesty for illegal immigrants, a hot-button issue in Texas and the rest of the country. With the state sharing a border with Mexico, immigration is a topic that hits close to home for Texans. Paxton believes that Cornyn’s views on this matter do not align with the values of the state and its people.

But perhaps the most significant point of contention between Paxton and Cornyn is the issue of the border wall. President Trump has made it a cornerstone of his administration to secure the US-Mexico border by building a wall. However, Cornyn has been a vocal critic of this plan, going as far as to introduce a bill that would block funding for the wall. This has not gone down well with Paxton, who believes that Cornyn is not doing enough to support the President’s agenda.

In the interview, Paxton did not mince his words when he said, “John Cornyn is a Washington insider who has been in the Senate for 23 years and has consistently pushed for policies that go against the values of Texas.” He also added, “We need a Senator who will stand up for our rights and values, not someone who is more concerned with pleasing the establishment in Washington.”

Paxton’s comments have caused quite a stir in the political landscape of Texas. Many have praised him for speaking out against Cornyn and his policies, while others have criticized him for attacking a fellow Republican. However, Paxton remains steadfast in his beliefs and is not afraid to speak out against those who he believes are not representing the best interests of Texas.

Senator Cornyn has not yet responded to Paxton’s remarks, but it is clear that there is a divide between the two prominent figures in Texas politics. With the 2020 Senate race approaching, it will be interesting to see how this dynamic plays out.

In conclusion, Attorney General Ken Paxton’s comments on Senator John Cornyn have caused quite a stir in the political landscape of Texas. Paxton’s strong words against Cornyn’s policies have sparked a debate about the direction of the state and its representation in Washington. It remains to be seen how this will impact the upcoming Senate race, but one thing is for sure – Paxton is not afraid to speak his mind and stand up for the values of Texas.
