Watch: Pelosi Scolds CNN’s Tapper for Asking About Trump Accusing Her of Insider Trading

On Wednesday, during an interview on CNN’s “The Lead,” Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had a heated exchange with host Jake Tapper. The topic of the interview was President Donald Trump’s recent accusation that Pelosi had engaged in insider trading. However, instead of addressing the serious allegations, Pelosi chose to scold Tapper for even asking the question.

The interview began with Tapper asking Pelosi about the recent stock market drop and the potential impact of the coronavirus on the economy. But before Tapper could finish his question, Pelosi interrupted and accused him of trying to distract from the issue at hand. She then proceeded to lecture Tapper on the importance of focusing on the coronavirus and not getting “carried away” with other topics.

But Tapper was persistent and continued to press Pelosi on the accusations made by President Trump. In response, Pelosi became visibly agitated and accused Tapper of being an “apologist” for the Trump administration. She then went on to claim that the accusations were baseless and that she had no knowledge of any insider trading.

However, Tapper was not satisfied with Pelosi’s dismissive response and pointed out that there have been reports of senators selling stocks before the market took a major hit due to the coronavirus. He asked Pelosi if she thought it was a coincidence that she had also sold stocks around the same time. This question clearly struck a nerve with Pelosi, as she quickly shifted the blame to Tapper and accused him of being a “cheerleader” for the Trump administration.

Pelosi’s behavior during the interview was not only unprofessional, but it also raised more questions about her involvement in potential insider trading. As a member of Congress, Pelosi has access to confidential information that could greatly impact the stock market. It is not uncommon for politicians to engage in insider trading, and the American public deserves to know the truth about their elected officials.

The fact that Pelosi chose to deflect and attack Tapper instead of addressing the serious allegations against her is concerning. As a leader in Congress, she should be held to a higher standard and be willing to address any concerns or accusations against her. Her behavior only adds fuel to the fire and raises more suspicion about her actions.

It is important for the media to hold our politicians accountable and ask tough questions. As a news organization, it is CNN’s responsibility to ask about important issues, even if it may be uncomfortable for the person being interviewed. Tapper was simply doing his job by asking Pelosi about the allegations and it is disappointing to see her react in such a defensive and unprofessional manner.

In the end, it is up to the American people to decide whether they believe Pelosi’s denial or if they want a thorough investigation into the matter. Regardless of the outcome, it is clear that Pelosi’s behavior during the interview was unacceptable and showed a lack of transparency and accountability. The American public deserves better from their elected officials and it is time for Pelosi to address the allegations rather than deflect and attack those who question her.
