Tributes paid to ‘kind and thoughtful’ councillor who has died after cancer battle

Gary Robert Jones, a beloved Carmarthenshire county councillor, has been battling cancer for nearly three years. Despite his illness, he continued to serve his community with dedication and passion, inspiring those around him with his resilience and determination.

Jones was first diagnosed with cancer in 2017, and since then, he has undergone numerous treatments and surgeries. However, he never let his illness stop him from fulfilling his duties as a county councillor.
