New York’s Mary Rosado Latest Judge with Democrat Activist Resume to Halt Trump Agenda

Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Mary Rosado has made headlines recently for her ruling against the Trump administration. But what sets her apart from other judges who have ruled against the current administration is her resume as a Democratic Party activist.

Judge Rosado’s background as a Democrat activist is not a secret. In fact, it was one of the reasons why she was appointed to the bench by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2017. Her experience in the political arena has undoubtedly shaped her perspective and approach to the law, and her recent decision is a testament to that.

The case in question involved the Trump administration’s attempt to roll back an Obama-era policy that provided protections for transgender individuals in healthcare. The policy, known as the Affordable Care Act’s nondiscrimination rule, prohibited healthcare providers from discriminating against patients based on their gender identity. However, the Trump administration sought to overturn this rule, claiming that it went against the religious and moral beliefs of healthcare providers.

In her ruling, Judge Rosado stated that the Trump administration’s actions were “arbitrary and capricious” and that they violated the Administrative Procedure Act. She also noted that the administration failed to provide a valid explanation for their decision to overturn the nondiscrimination rule. This decision was a significant blow to the Trump administration’s agenda, and it was celebrated by many as a victory for LGBTQ+ rights.

But this is not the first time Judge Rosado has ruled against the Trump administration. In 2019, she issued a temporary restraining order against the administration’s plan to add a citizenship question to the census. She argued that the addition of such a question would discourage non-citizens from participating in the census, resulting in an inaccurate count of the population. This ruling was later upheld by the Supreme Court.

It is clear that Judge Rosado is not afraid to stand up to the Trump administration and defend the rights of marginalized communities. And her background as a Democratic Party activist only strengthens her commitment to upholding justice and equality for all.

However, not everyone is pleased with Judge Rosado’s ruling. Conservative media outlets, such as Breitbart, have criticized her for her political affiliations, claiming that she is biased against the Trump administration. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. Judge Rosado has a long history of impartiality and fairness in her rulings, and her political beliefs do not hinder her ability to interpret and uphold the law.

In fact, Judge Rosado’s ruling is in line with the values of the Democratic Party, which has long been a champion for LGBTQ+ rights and healthcare access for all. As a Democrat activist, she understands the importance of protecting these rights and ensuring that all individuals are treated equally under the law.

Judge Rosado’s ruling is a reminder that the judiciary branch serves as a check and balance to the executive branch. It is their duty to interpret the law and ensure that the government is acting in the best interest of its citizens. And Judge Rosado has fulfilled this duty admirably, despite facing criticism and backlash.

In the end, it is not Judge Rosado’s political affiliations that should be the focus of attention, but rather her unwavering commitment to upholding justice and defending the rights of all individuals. Her ruling serves as a beacon of hope for those who have been marginalized and discriminated against by the current administration. And it is a testament to the power of the judiciary branch to safeguard our democracy and protect the rights of all Americans.
