MoD inks biggest-ever deal with HAL for supply of 156 copters for ₹62,700 crore

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has recently reached a significant milestone as it announced that a total of 193 deals have been inked during the fiscal year 2024-2025. This number is a significant increase from the previous fiscal year, and the overall worth of these deals has exceeded an impressive figure of ₹2,09,050 crore.

This achievement by the MoD is a clear indication of the government’s unwavering commitment to strengthening our nation’s defence forces. The constant efforts and effective policies of the MoD have enabled India to become a major player in the global arms market.

One of the key areas that have seen a substantial increase in deals is the procurement of weapons and equipment. The MoD has been tirelessly working towards modernizing the Indian Armed Forces with the latest and advanced technologies. This has led to the induction of a wide range of state-of-the-art weapons and equipment, including fighter jets, missiles, helicopters, and submarines.

In addition to this, the MoD has also focused on expanding the domestic defence industry by promoting the ”Make in India” initiative. This has not only boosted the indigenous production of defence equipment but has also reduced our dependence on foreign countries for defence imports. It has also created significant employment opportunities and contributed to the overall growth of the economy.

The MoD’s efforts have also been directed towards strengthening our border infrastructure. The construction of roads, bridges, and tunnels along the borders has not only enhanced the operational preparedness of our armed forces but has also helped in the development of remote and border areas.

Another notable achievement of the MoD is the successful implementation of the Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP). This has streamlined the defence procurement process and has made it more efficient, transparent, and cost-effective. It has also provided a level playing field for both public and private sectors to participate in defence deals.

The MoD has also been proactive in promoting joint ventures and partnerships with foreign defence companies. These collaborations have not only facilitated the transfer of technology but have also allowed for the development of niche defence products in India. This has further strengthened our defence capabilities and has positioned our nation as a leading defence exporter in the global market.

The successes achieved by the MoD in the past fiscal year are a clear reflection of the government’s vision to make India a self-reliant and self-sufficient nation in terms of defence production. This is a significant step towards fulfilling the dream of an ”Atmanirbhar Bharat”.

However, the MoD’s efforts do not stop here. They have set an even higher target for the upcoming fiscal year. The aim is to increase the number of deals and their overall worth, which will further boost the defence sector and contribute to the growth of the nation.

The increased number of deals and their value not only reflects the growth of the defence sector but also reaffirms our nation’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Indian Armed Forces have always been at the forefront of safeguarding our nation, and the MoD’s efforts towards modernization and expansion of the defence industry have further strengthened their capabilities.

The MoD’s achievements in the past fiscal year have set a benchmark for the future. With the continued efforts and dedication of the government, the defence sector is expected to witness exponential growth in the coming years.

In conclusion, the MoD’s announcement of a total of 193 deals worth over ₹2,09,050 crore in the fiscal year 2024-2025 is a testament to the government’s commitment to make India a global leader in the defence industry. The constant efforts towards modernization, promotion of indigenous production, and expansion of the defence sector have not only strengthened our armed forces but have also contributed to the nation’s overall growth. The future of the defence sector looks bright, and we can expect to see more such remarkable achievements in the years to come.
