Former US first lady Michelle Obama and her brother to launch podcast

Michelle Obama and her brother, Craig Robinson, are set to take the podcast world by storm with their new weekly series, “IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson”. The podcast, which will premiere this month, will feature special guests from the world of entertainment, sports, health, and business.

According to a press release, the podcast will address “everyday questions shaping our lives, relationships, and the world around us.” The title, “IMO”, is slang for “in my opinion”, hinting at the personal and relatable nature of the discussions that will take place.

Some of the guests lined up for the show include actors Issa Rae and Keke Palmer, psychologist Dr. Orna Guralnik, filmmakers Seth and Lauren Rogan, soccer star Abby Wambach, and authors Jay Shetty, Glennon Doyle, and Logan Ury. The diverse lineup also includes editor Elaine Welteroth, radio personality Angie Martinez, media mogul Tyler Perry, actor Tracee Ellis Ross, and husband-and-wife athlete and actor Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union. The podcast will also feature Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky, making it a truly star-studded affair.

The first two episodes, the first being an introductory one and the second featuring Issa Rae, will premiere on March 12. The subsequent episodes will be released weekly and will be available on all audio platforms as well as YouTube.

In a statement, Obama expressed her excitement for the podcast, saying, “With everything going on in the world, we’re all looking for answers and people to turn to. There is no single way to deal with the challenges we may be facing – whether it’s family, faith, or our personal relationships – but taking the time to open up and talk about these issues can provide hope.” This sentiment is especially relevant in today’s world, where many are struggling with various challenges and are looking for guidance and inspiration.

This is not the first time Michelle Obama has ventured into the world of podcasting. In 2020, she hosted “The Michelle Obama Podcast” and in 2023, she will release “The Light We Carry”. Her husband, former President Barack Obama, has also dabbled in podcasting with his series of conversations with Bruce Springsteen about American life.

The new podcast is a production of Higher Ground, the media company founded in 2018 by the former president and first lady. Higher Ground has already made a name for itself with its critically acclaimed projects, including the Oscar-winning documentary “American Factory” and the Emmy-nominated series “Becoming”.

The announcement of “IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson” has generated a lot of buzz and excitement among fans and podcast enthusiasts. The combination of the former first lady’s intelligence, grace, and relatability, along with her brother’s expertise in the world of sports, is sure to make for an engaging and thought-provoking podcast.

The podcast is not only a platform for entertaining conversations but also a space for meaningful discussions about important issues. With the world facing unprecedented challenges, the podcast aims to provide a sense of hope and inspiration through the power of storytelling and personal experiences.

In a time where many are feeling isolated and disconnected, “IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson” offers a sense of community and a reminder that we are all in this together. So mark your calendars and get ready to tune in to this exciting new podcast, as Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson share their insights, wisdom, and humor with the world.
