Democrat Reps. Khanna, Gillen Call Out Colleagues for Ignoring DJ Daniel

On Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump delivered his highly anticipated joint address before Congress. While many Democrats chose to boycott the event, two representatives stood out for their bravery and integrity in the face of their own party’s behavior. Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Laura Gillen (D-NY) took a stand for a young cancer fighter, DJ Daniel, when others chose to remain silent.

In a show of unity, Democrats and Republicans alike stood and applauded as DJ Daniel, a 10-year-old boy battling cancer, entered the chamber with his mother. However, as President Trump mentioned his fight against childhood cancer in his speech, only Khanna and Gillen were seen standing and applauding, while the rest of their Democratic colleagues remained seated.

This act of defiance did not go unnoticed, as Breitbart reported that Khanna and Gillen were among the very few Democrats to criticize their own party’s behavior during the joint address. In a post on Breitbart, the two representatives were praised for standing up for DJ Daniel, who has become a symbol of hope and courage in the fight against cancer.

In an interview with Breitbart, Rep. Khanna stated that he and Rep. Gillen were “proud to stand up for DJ Daniel and all those battling cancer.” He also expressed disappointment in his colleagues for not showing the same level of support and respect for the young cancer fighter.

Rep. Gillen echoed Khanna’s sentiments, saying that she was “honored to stand with DJ Daniel and his family” and that she was “disappointed that others did not join in showing support for this brave young boy.”

The actions of Khanna and Gillen are a testament to their character and their commitment to putting aside political differences for the greater good. In a time when the political climate is so divisive, it is refreshing to see representatives who are willing to stand up for what is right, even if it means going against their own party.

Their actions also shed light on the importance of supporting those who are fighting against cancer. DJ Daniel’s story has touched the hearts of many, and his fight serves as a reminder of the strength and resilience of those battling this disease. By standing and applauding for him, Khanna and Gillen not only showed their support for DJ Daniel but also for all those who are fighting against cancer.

In addition to their show of support for DJ Daniel, Khanna and Gillen have also been vocal about their support for policies that would benefit cancer patients and their families. Khanna has been a strong advocate for universal healthcare, while Gillen has been a vocal supporter of measures to lower the cost of cancer treatments.

Their actions during the joint address are a reflection of their commitment to fighting for the well-being of all Americans, regardless of their political affiliations. It is a reminder that, at the end of the day, we are all human beings who should come together to support and uplift each other.

In a time when political divisions seem to be at an all-time high, the actions of Reps. Ro Khanna and Laura Gillen serve as a beacon of hope and unity. They have shown that it is possible to put aside political differences and come together for a greater cause. Their bravery and integrity should be applauded, and their message of unity and support should be embraced by all.

In conclusion, the joint address before Congress was a historic event, and the actions of Reps. Ro Khanna and Laura Gillen have made it even more memorable. By standing up for DJ Daniel, they have shown that they are not afraid to go against the grain and stand up for what is right. Their actions serve as an inspiration to us all, and we can only hope that more politicians will follow their lead in the future.
