IV Energy Security Dialogue Between Angola and the United States
The IV Energy Security Dialogue between Angola and the United States took place on June 13 at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. This meeting aimed to discuss measures for enhancing energy security in Angola, specifically in relation to energy production and access to electricity.
João Baptista Borges, the Minister of Energy and Water, led the Angolan delegation, while the U.S. side was represented by Geoffrey Pyatt, Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) focused on issues surrounding the dependable and stable supply of energy and the strengthening of commercial partnerships in this area.
The discussions between João Baptista Borges of Angola and Geoffrey Pyatt from the United States primarily centered on ensuring a secure and stable energy supply, enhancing trade relations within this sector, and addressing concerns related to energy security.
Attending the meeting were José Barroso, the Angolan Secretary of State for Petroleum; Pedro Afonso, Chairman of PRODEL-EP; Rui Gourgel, Chairman of RNT-EP; Helder Adão, Chairman of ENDE; Sebastião Martins, Chairman of Sonangol; José Quarta, Board Representative of IRSEA; along with representatives from ANPG.
