Spirit of Invention exhibition goes to Newcastle-upon-Tyne

The National Archives is thrilled to announce that our highly anticipated exhibition, Spirit of Invention, will be embarking on its first tour! After a successful season at The National Archives in Kew during 2023, the interactive exhibition will be making its way to Newcastle-upon-Tyne’s Discovery Museum on 16 March.

This is an exciting milestone for us as it marks the first time one of our exhibitions will be going on tour. We are delighted to bring Spirit of Invention to a wider audience and share the fascinating stories of innovation and creativity that have shaped our world.

Designed specifically for young families, Spirit of Invention is a one-of-a-kind exhibition that will captivate and inspire visitors of all ages. Through a series of interactive displays and hands-on activities, visitors will be taken on a journey through time, exploring the remarkable inventions and discoveries that have changed the course of history.

From the invention of the wheel to the latest technological advancements, Spirit of Invention showcases the ingenuity and determination of individuals who have pushed the boundaries of what was once thought possible. It is a celebration of human curiosity and the endless possibilities that come with it.

During its season at The National Archives, Spirit of Invention received rave reviews from both visitors and critics alike. The exhibition was praised for its engaging and informative displays, as well as its ability to make history come alive for younger audiences. We are confident that it will continue to captivate and educate visitors at the Discovery Museum.

The decision to take Spirit of Invention on tour was an easy one for us. We believe that it is important to make our exhibitions accessible to as many people as possible, and what better way to do that than by taking it on the road? We are committed to bringing the rich history and heritage of our nation to different parts of the country, and we are thrilled to start with Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

The Discovery Museum is the perfect venue for Spirit of Invention’s tour. With its focus on science and technology, the museum is the ideal setting for visitors to immerse themselves in the world of invention and discovery. We are confident that the exhibition will be a huge hit with the local community and attract visitors from all over the region.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the Discovery Museum for hosting Spirit of Invention and for their support in making this tour possible. We are also grateful to our sponsors and partners who have helped us bring this exhibition to life and make it a success.

We invite everyone to come and experience Spirit of Invention at the Discovery Museum. Whether you are a history buff, a science enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun and educational day out with your family, this exhibition has something for everyone. We promise that you will leave feeling inspired and amazed by the incredible inventions and discoveries that have shaped our world.

So mark your calendars and join us on 16 March at the Discovery Museum for the opening of Spirit of Invention’s tour. We can’t wait to share this exciting journey with you and continue to bring the wonders of history to life. See you there!
